April 9 - Threshold Step Up 2 (PWR)
1) Stuart Davis was an American modernist painter who integrated jazz into his art. His work spanned the heyday of jazz from the 1920s to the early 1960s.

2) Davis would often revisit past motifs and recreate, almost reimagine, them as new pieces. The banner of this week’s post is one example of a Stuart Davis reinvention. You can see a similar structure on both the left and right — with the paintwork differing in both. If you go to the museum website, they have a cool slider you can move left and right and see how the image changed.
3). This week’s profile looks to increase your output (watts) at your lactate threshold. Doing so lets your body efficiently clear lactate as the muscles produce it.
Profile is derived from the LifeTime Fitness Library
4) This week’s Spotify playlist. It’s the same playlist as our first class on February 12. So not quite a reinvention, but an opportunity for you to monitor your progress. I would love to hear what you find.
5) Self Study: Breathing is an essential part of cycling. More so for indoor cycling where downhills don’t allow for coasting. As we move towards higher intensity efforts, one’s ability to manage their aerobic energy system is what allows for meaningful anaerobic efforts.
Checkout this article I wrote for UnderArmour. Mindful breathing will unlock your potential on the bike.
